How on earth do you hold a green meeting and will it save the earth if you do, after all you’re doing is turning up at a hotel and sitting all day, how much damage can I do?

Well personally probably not that much, but collectively meetings and events can have an enormous impact, which is why we are so passionate about our Green Meetings checklist.

Venue Questionnaire
We have also started the process of checking the ‘green’ credentials of all venues on our database and when completed we will make this available to all clients. Questions asked of the venues include:

• Proximity to a train station or bus route

• Shuttle bus provision from the station to the venue

• Does it have an Environmental policy

• Year on year % reduction of their own carbon footprint

• Year on year % reduction in utilities bills

• % of lighting employing long life light bulbs

• % of food sourced from local suppliers

• % of chemical free environmentally friendly cleaning materials

• % of recycled paper used

• Recycling facilities within the venue, bedrooms and meeting rooms

• Collection and usage of rainwater
